Since I'm working on digital projects, its been difficult for me to find projects to pitch to. I decided to browse a few older ones on Indiewalls to see if there's anything I could cater to with a tablet. I found this super cool project, which has been there for a little while now and there was an update posted just a week ago, which read that they were looking for a few sketches and illustrations to complete their search. The project is for a luxury hotel in Los Angeles inspired by vintage glamor and 1920s Hollywood. The clients are still unsure about the number of artworks they are looking for and what sizes they want, which was the initial reason why I had decided not to pitch my paintings earlier. When I browsed through the work pitched already for this project, I saw that there were a lot of abstracts. But there weren't as many illustrations depicting sophistication and glamor. Thats the direction I'm taking my pitches in. Here are a couple of images uploaded by the client in the brief. I remember looking at the project when it was first published and getting so excited because I had just received my first shipment of resin and hardener from California and couldn't WAIT to start working with it. The circular painting in the first image could have been something I could pitch as resin art. Then it had occurred to me that shipping would be a nightmare so I dropped the idea. I'm working on a feminine piece thats mainly monochromatic. Its of a woman's profile. I've exaggerated the neck and have decided to use an Art Deco print for her dress. Here is what it looks like as of now Planning on working on her back, neck and of course the pattern today. Will post more pictures tomorrow!
